Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on www.screensnap.pro, including our free online tools. It is run by Iaroslav Morgunov, trading as ScreenSnap Pro, in Porto, Portugal (see the Legal Notice). For everything else about personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser and reads again later. Websites can also keep data in your browser in other ways: local storage (kept until it is deleted), session storage (deleted when you close the tab) and IndexedDB (a larger store, often used as a cache). In this policy we call all of these "cookies" unless the difference matters.

Under Portuguese law (Lei 41/2004, which implements the EU ePrivacy Directive), a website may store or read information on your device without asking only when this is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. For everything else it needs your consent.

The short version

  • Necessary and preference storage keeps the site and free tools working and remembers choices such as your theme and dismissing the discount pop-up.
  • Fathom counts visits and selected events without cookies or browser storage. The Privacy Policy explains the data it receives.
  • We use no cookies that need your consent, so there is no cookie banner.

Checkout attribution

We keep the starting page and campaign tags in page memory and add them to Polar checkout links. These details survive client-side navigation but are lost on a full page reload. We do not read or write them in cookies, local storage or session storage. A purchase is deduplicated in memory, and purchase markers are removed from the address after reporting so reloading does not count it again.

The cookies and storage we use

Third-party content and services

  • YouTube videos. Some blog posts, the homepage and the pricing page contain a YouTube video. On blog posts, the preview image loads from Google's server (i.ytimg.com) with the page, which gives Google your IP address and browser details. On the homepage and the pricing page, the preview image comes from our own server. On every page, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com only after you click play. From then on Google may set cookies or similar storage under its own privacy policy.
  • Checkout. When you click a buy button you go to Polar's checkout on polar.sh. Polar, our reseller, and the payment providers it uses may set their own cookies there, under Polar's policies.
  • Free-tool downloads. Some free tools download code or models from jsDelivr, cdnjs or our own file storage at files.screensnap.pro (Cloudflare). These requests send your IP address and browser details to those providers but set no cookies for us, and your files are never uploaded. Your browser may keep the downloaded files in its normal cache.

Managing storage

You can view and delete cookies and site data in your browser's Privacy or Site settings, including items left by earlier versions of the website. Blocking storage can reset saved preferences and cause tools to download their cached files again.

Changes and contact

We update this policy when we add, remove or change a cookie, and change the date at the top. Questions: privacy@screensnap.pro. Your rights, including how to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD), are explained in the Privacy Policy.
