Keyboard Shortcuts

View and customize all global hotkeys and editor shortcuts.

Global Hotkeys

Global hotkeys work system-wide, even when ScreenSnap Pro is in the background. All global hotkeys require a modifier key (Cmd, Shift, Alt, or Ctrl) plus a main key.

  1. 1Cmd + Shift + 1 — Screenshot (capture & save)
  2. 2Cmd + Shift + 2 — Screenshot & Edit (capture & open in editor)
  3. 3Cmd + Shift + 3 — Fullscreen capture
  4. 4Cmd + Shift + 5 — Window capture
  5. 5Cmd + Shift + G — Screen recording
  6. 6Cmd + Shift + 6 — OCR / text extraction

Editor Shortcuts

Editor shortcuts are active when the editor window is focused. Tool shortcuts use single keys — no modifier needed.

  1. 11 — Arrow tool
  2. 22 — Rectangle tool
  3. 33 — Filled rectangle tool
  4. 44 — Ellipse tool
  5. 55 — Line tool
  6. 66 — Blur tool
  7. 77 — Pixelate tool
  8. 88 — Highlighter tool
  9. 99 — Text tool
  10. 100 — Counter tool
  11. 11J — Emoji tool
  12. 12P — Pencil tool
  13. 13C — Callout tool
  14. 14S — Spotlight tool
  15. 15H — Hand / pointer mode

Editor Actions

These shortcuts use modifier keys and are active in the editor:

  1. 1Cmd + S — Save / export screenshot
  2. 2Cmd + C — Copy to clipboard
  3. 3Cmd + Z — Undo
  4. 4Cmd + Shift + Z — Redo

Customize Shortcuts

Open Settings > Shortcuts to view and customize all shortcuts. Click any shortcut and press your desired key combination to reassign it. If a new hotkey conflicts with an existing one, the old assignment is automatically cleared.

Global shortcuts temporarily disable while you're recording a new hotkey, so you can freely press any key combination without triggering a capture.
