ScreenSnap Cloud comes with every ScreenSnap Pro licence at no extra cost. To keep it fast and included for everyone, it is built for one job: sharing the screenshots and recordings you make with ScreenSnap Pro through a short link.
This policy applies to everyone who uses ScreenSnap Cloud. It gives you a rule of thumb for telling fair use from use the service isn't built for. It sits alongside the ScreenSnap Cloud section of our Terms of Use, which also lists what you must never upload.
Fair use
- sharing links in chats, emails and comments
- posting on social media
- answering customer support questions
- sending work to clients and teammates for feedback
- linking screenshots and recordings from bug reports, tickets and project notes
Not fair use
- uploading images or videos that you didn't capture or record with ScreenSnap Pro
- hosting images for a blog, website, online store or app, for example by embedding share links in web pages
- using ScreenSnap Cloud as general file storage, a CDN or an archive (it is not a backup)
- sharing your licence key, or using one licence on more than the 2 computers it covers
Limits
Most people never come close to these. We set them as generously as we can without putting an unreasonable load on our servers.
| Item | Limit |
|---|---|
| File types | Images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, BMP) and videos (MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI) |
| File size | Up to 300 MB per file |
| Number of uploads | Up to 10,000 stored at a time per licence; deleting uploads frees room |
There is no fixed monthly cap on uploads or on how often your links are opened. If your usage is far above what is typical, we email you before doing anything, and as long as you are not abusing the service, we look for a solution together.
If usage isn't fair
- We talk to you first. We email you at the address you bought with, explain what we noticed and give you a chance to reply or change how you use the service.
- Then we may limit ScreenSnap Cloud for that licence, for example by disabling links that are used to host images on a website, or by pausing new uploads.
- The rest of the App keeps working. Screenshots, recording, editing and saving files to your computer are not affected.
Illegal or harmful content is a separate matter. It is covered by the Terms of Use and can be reported to us at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ScreenSnap Cloud grows. If a change clearly makes the service worse for you, for example by lowering a limit, we tell licence holders by email at least 30 days in advance, as described in our Terms of Use.
