Capture Delay

Set a timed delay before any capture to prepare your screen.

How Capture Delay Works

Capture delay adds a countdown timer before any screenshot is taken. This gives you time to open menus, position windows, hover over elements, or trigger states that would disappear the moment you press a shortcut.

Set a Delay

Enable capture delay from the capture toolbar or Preferences. Choose from preset delays or set a custom duration.

  1. 1Initiate any capture mode (area, window, fullscreen, or area editor).
  2. 2Before capturing, select a delay from the capture toolbar (3s, 5s, or 10s).
  3. 3The countdown begins — use this time to set up your screen.
  4. 4The capture triggers automatically when the timer reaches zero.

Capture delay works with all capture modes. It's especially useful for capturing dropdown menus, tooltips, and hover states that require interaction before the screenshot.
