Select the Pencil tool from the toolbar or press `P`. Click and drag to draw freehand on the canvas. The stroke follows your cursor with smooth anti-aliasing for natural-looking lines.

Adjust stroke color and thickness (1–10px) from the properties panel.

Use any image from your Mac as a background. Import a custom image and it will be used as the wallpaper behind your screenshot — perfect for matching your brand, using a specific texture, or creating a unique look that isn't in the built-in library.

Create custom gradient backgrounds with the built-in gradient editor. Pick two or more colors, adjust the angle (0–360°), and the preview updates in real time. Popular gradients for social media are available as one-click presets.

Use any solid color as a background. Pick from preset colors or enter a custom hex value. Solid backgrounds provide a clean, distraction-free frame that makes your screenshot content stand out.

Choose a transparent background for a clean PNG export with no background. The screenshot itself, along with any shadows and rounded corners, is preserved. Transparent backgrounds are ideal when you want to layer the screenshot over other content in a presentation or design tool.

Select the Emoji tool from the toolbar or press `J`. An emoji picker appears automatically with a full library of emojis. Click an emoji to select it, then click on the canvas to place it.

Resize emojis by dragging the corner handles. Rotate them by dragging the rotation handle above the selection.
